I obtained my degree in Hungarian Language and Ethnography from Babes-Bolyai University of Cluj-Napoca, furthering my education with a Master's in Socio- and Ethnolinguistics. In 2005, I achieved my doctorate. Since then, I've been an integral part of the Babes-Bolyai University as a full-time assistant professor within the Department of Hungarian Ethnography and Anthropology. My teaching areas include the Anthropology of Art, Cultural Memory, Local and Global Cultural Processes, as well as Digital Society and Artificial Intelligence.

My current research is partly about the end of paper-based culture, exploring the written narratives of the past, and partly about its transition to digital culture, social media and the social impact of the emergence of artificial intelligence. My recent work involves a meticulous review of a 2,400-document archive, employing anthropological methodologies. These documents, amassed throughout the lifetime of an Eastern European pastor, comprise a rich collection of letters, notes, photographs, official records, and other paper-based artifacts from the 20th century, featured in my last four books (2020, 2021, 2022 and 2023).

As part of my academic work, I have published seven books as single author, most recently a book with Lexington Books in the United States. I am also editor or co-editor of 16 books, proofreader of two books, one of which was published in French, and have published more than 30 studies in national and international journals and collective volumes. I am currently a habilitated associate professor at Babeș–Bolyai University in Cluj-Napoca. I obtained my habilitation in cultural studies at the University of Bucharest.
